Follow the steps below to upload your files for matching.
Once your campaign has launched, you can upload a file for matching as many times as you’d like by adding an on-demand task to your order.
Important Notes:
- POS Matchback must be requested at the time of your order.
- We can match your sales for up to 1 year after the campaign end date.
Matchback View
Any files you have already mapped will appear in this section of your order.
How it works:
Step 1:
On your order page, click the checkbox for Add Task.
Step 2:
Select Order: Upload Sales File for POS Matchback from the dropdown. Then add a comment and click the Add button.
Step 3:
Click on the tasks tab and open your task to get started.
Step 4:
You will now be asked to upload your sales file and begin the mapping process.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- The file should be in CSV format.
- If you’re uploading directly, your file should NOT have headers.
- If the Connect team is uploading the file for you, the following columns are required:
- First Name, Last Name, Address, and Zip Code.
- You may map additional columns. However, it is not necessary because your complete file will be returned to you.
- You will receive your complete file back, with all originally included columns, along with a match flag indicating if that person matched or not.

Step 5a:
Click the Upload File button to upload your CSV file.
Step 5b:
Map the columns from your POS Matchback report by selecting the proper value in the Column Type and Column Letter dropdowns.
- You only need to map First Name, Last Name, Address, and Zip5.
- Ex: In the sample file, Address is in Column I, so we will map it accordingly. Then we will repeat the process until every required column is mapped.
Step 5c:
You can map additional columns by selecting the checkbox labeled Check this box to map an additional column. However, this step is optional. We will return your complete file with all the original columns, along with a flag indicating whether each person was matched.
Step 5d:
Click Save Details and complete your task.
Step 6:
You will then see a comment that either reads Success or Error. This will alert you if your sales file was uploaded correctly or not.
- If Success: You will receive an email in one hour informing you that your POS Matchback results are ready to be viewed in the dashboard.
- If Error: Please review the error. You will receive a new task titled, Upload Revised POS File for Order. Start that task, reupload your fixed sales file, complete the column mapping, save details, and complete the task. Repeat until you get the success message shown above.
Step 7:
After you receive the Processed Success message, you can view your matches in the dashboard titled POS Matchback New Process.
Step 8:
View your matches. Under the Get My POS File column, click the link titled Click to download to receive your match file.
Step 9:
You will then receive an email from the name “Connect” and the email “support@withrealcustomers.com.” A sample of the email can be found below.
- Note: Once you receive the email, download your match file by clicking POS File. You’ll have 10 minutes to download the file before it expires. You can submit matchbacks on your order up to 1 year after the campaign end date.
Step 10:
Click POS File to download your match file. You will see your original, complete spreadsheet with all of your columns. Our matches will be added in column A.
- “FALSE” = no match
- “TRUE”= match.
