How to Use And/Or Logic

When building an audience, you have the option to customize your audience selects using AND/OR logic.

Utilizing AND/OR logic allows you to expand or refine your audience as desired. Below, we will show you how to create different audience combinations using “AND/OR” logic.

“AND” Logic: Once you have your audience built using the data selects provided. You’ll see them mapped out on the right. By default, your audience will be built using “AND” logic. Meaning every data select must be accounted for. (Unless they were chosen from the same sub-category, then they will appear with "OR" logic.)

In the example image below, we are building an audience of males in New Jersey, ages 25-55 who own a home, are interested in travel, and either use their travel card OR have made a travel purchase in the last 24 months. Using this logic gives us a total audience of 141,838.

“OR Logic”  To change the logic, simply combine the two data selects you would like to apply “OR” logic to by dragging and dropping one box onto the other.

Below, we dragged and dropped the “Travel Purchase” box into the “Travel Interest” box. Now, we are targeting males, ages 25-55, who own a home and either have an interest in travel OR use a travel credit card or have made a travel purchase in the last 24 months. As you’ll see, using this logic gave us a significantly larger audience result.
